The Brief: The Coronavirus pandemic reached the Republic of Ireland in late February 2020. The mandatory wearing of masks did not only help slow the spread of the virus, it has helped reduce the spread of other respiratory infections as well, most notably the flu. The HSE | Dept of Health are obliging you to wear a surgical type mask of all forms of public transport and to consider wearing one in crowded in-door spaces.

The Solution: The campaign concept is based on the premise that there are many legitimate reasons to wear a mask to protect yourself and others. Whatever reason you choose to wear a mask, regardless of the current status of the pandemic, is valid. This campaign aims to convey the message that wearing a mask is appropriate for just about any purpose. Each mask has a different colour/pattern to represent the person wearing it, i.e. ranging from young to old mask wearer's partnered with a different quote as to why someone would choose to wear a mask.
